    4177 Kohman (1987 SS1) is an outer main-belt asteroid discovered on September 21, 1987, by Edward L. G. Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station of the Lowell Observatory.[1] It is one of very few asteroids located in the 2 : 1 mean motion resonance with Jupiter.[5] Named in honor of Truman Paul Kohman professor of nuclear chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University.[6]
