Technical changes
- The 2018 is scheduled to see the introduction an all-new chassis and engine package.[2] The GP2/11 chassis will be replaced by the F2/18.[3] It will be powered by a 3.4 L (207 cu in) V6 turbocharged direct-injected engine developed by Mecachrome, replacing the aging Mecachrome 4.0 L (244 cu in) V8 naturally-aspirated engine which had been used since the inaugural season of GP2 Series.[4]
