The 2018 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters is planned to be nineteenth season of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, since the series' resumption in 2000. 2018 will be the final season for the current 4.0 litre V8 normally-aspirated engine package that débuted in the inaugural reborn season; as the brand new engine package will be introduced for the following season as a part of the Class One prospect with Japanese Super GT GT500 cars.[1] 2018 will also the final season for Mercedes-Benz AMG in DTM due to Mercedes-Benz AMG will switch focus to FIA Formula E from 2019-20 season and thus confirming the end of Mercedes-Benz AMG in DTM after 19 years.[2]
Calendar changes
- On 17 July 2017 it was announced that EuroSpeedway Lausitz has been removed from DTM 2018 calendar citing undergo major renovations to testing track after the racetrack sold to DEKRA.[3]
