The 2017 Southern Jaguars football team will represent Southern University in the 2017 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Jaguars are led by fifth-year head coach Dawson Odums and play their home games at Ace W. Mumford Stadium. The Jaguars compete as a member of the West Division of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and were picked to finish second in the Western Division.[1] Due to NCAA APR, the Jaguars are ineligible to participate in the SWAC Championship or the Celebration Bowl.[2]
