The 2017 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women is the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women. Originally slated to be held at Hyderabad, the tournament venue was moved and now will be held at Bengaluru, India from October 22 to 28.[1][2][3]

For the first time, the championship will feature eight teams in Division A and six teams in Division B. Teams from Australia and New Zealand will join the semifinalists and the qualifying round winners of the 2015 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women. Meanwhile, the hosts will head to Division B along with five other teams.[1]
