The 2017 EFL League One play-off Final was a football match contested between Bradford City and Millwall. The match was played at Wembley Stadium on 20 May 2017 and was won 1–0 by Millwall, the only goal scored by Steve Morison in the 85th minute.[2] Millwall were promoted to the Championship for the 2017–18 season. The match saw the first ever pitch invasion at the new Wembley Stadium.[3]
Route to the final
Millwall qualified for the final by beating Scunthorpe United 3–2 on aggregate over two legs. The first leg on 4 May at The Den finished 0-0.[4] The second leg, on 7 May, resulted on a 3–2 win for Millwall with goals from Lee Gregory and two from Steve Morison for Millwall and Ivan Toney and Stephen Dawson for Scunthorpe.[5]
Bradford City beat Fleetwood Town 1–0 to reach the final.[6] The only goal over two legs, came at Bradford's Valley Parade on 4 May and was scored by Rory McArdle[7]

Bradford City were allocated 38,000 tickets for the game. Millwall's allocation was 37,623.[8][9]

Post match
At the end of the game Millwall fans invaded the pitch confronting Bradford City manager, Stuart McCall. McCall said, "Wembley have to learn from this. Everyone in the place knew they were coming on. I was close to clocking a couple,” [10] The Metropolitan Police made 12 arrests.[11] After the game, supporters of both clubs were seen fighting and throwing traffic cones. A supporter was also seen to be punched and kicked while on the ground.[12] A spokesman for the EFL called the invasion "completely unacceptable".[13]
