The 2017 Corpus Christi Rage season was the franchise's inaugural season as a professional indoor football franchise; they were an expansion team of the National Arena League. The Rage were one of eight teams that competed in the NAL for its inaugural 2017 season. At the beginning of the season, the team was led by head coach Steven Filmore. The Rage played their home games at the American Bank Center.

After the team's fourth game of the season, the Rage's operations were apparently taken over by the league from owner Eric Smith.[1] The team's May 20 home game against the Georgia Firebirds was cancelled as a cost-cutting measure as the league had also taken control of the Firebirds franchise the week before.[2]

On June 15, it was announced that the team had suspended operations and was likely to fold at the end of the season, resulting in the cancellation of the team's final game of the season.[3]
