This page covers all relevant details regarding PFC Cherno More Varna for all official competitions inside the 2016–17 season. These are the Bulgarian First Professional League and Bulgarian Cup. The team's head coach Nikola Spasov has signed a one-year contract extension immediately after the 2015–16 season,[1] but left the club by mutual consent a few weeks later.[2] Subsequently, on 21 June 2016 the club appointed Georgi Ivanov as new head coach,[3] which will be his second spell at the helm of Cherno More.

As the club's ground, Ticha Stadium, was not certified to host league games, the team will play all of its home games at Kavarna Stadium in Kavarna[4] at least until the repair works at Ticha are completed.

Notes:
  1. 1 2 On 29 May 2017 a UEFA letter to the Bulgarian Football Union declared that CSKA Sofia were not allowed to compete in European tournaments for the following two seasons as they were considered to have been re-formed as a new club and thus did not pass the "three-year rule".[49] As this decision was appealed by CSKA Sofia, the Bulgarian Football Union granted a license to them subject to legal proceedings.[50][51][52] A few hours prior to the Europa League first qualifying round draw, UEFA replaced them by Dunav Ruse, the fourth-placed team of the league.[53]
