The 2015 Rugby Europe Men's Sevens Championships, also known as the 2015 Sevens Grand Prix Series, was an Olympic qualification tournament for Rugby sevens at the 2016 Summer Olympics which was held over three legs in the cities of Moscow, Lyon and Exeter.[1]

The top team qualified directly to the Olympic Games, whereas the runner-up qualified to the Final Olympic Qualification Tournament in 2016. France won the 2015 Rugby Europe Men's Sevens Championship, and qualified directly to the 2016 Summer Olympics. Spain finished second and qualified directly to the Final 2016 Men's Olympic Qualification Tournament, avoiding the Rugby Europe Repechage Tournament.[2] Russia won the European repechage tournament, and qualified for the 2016 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament along with runner-up Germany and third place Ireland.[3]

Promotion and relegation

Poland won the A Division Tournament and was promoted to the Top Division for the 2016 Competition. They will replace Romania who was Relegated from the Top Division to Division A for the 2016 Competition.

Ireland won the B Division Tournament and was promoted to Division A along with runner-up Serbia for the 2016 Competition.[4] They will replace Hungary and either Denmark or Sweden (Tiebreaker TBD) who were both Relegated from Division A to Division B for the 2016 Competition.

Due to Olympic Qualification procedures, Relegation for Division C will be determined prior to next year based on the number of countries who enter.

The remaining 12 teams played a final repechage tournament. The 12 teams were broken into three pools of four teams each, although the groups turned out not to be of even strength -- three teams from Pool A made it to the semifinals, whereas no teams from Pool C finished in the top six.

Russia, Germany, and Ireland qualified for the Final 2016 Men's Olympic Qualification Tournament. At that tournament, all three teams progressed to the quarterfinals with a chance to advance to the Olympics. Germany was knocked out in the semifinal 14-26 by Samoa. Spain knocked out Ireland 12-7 in the quarterfinals and Russia 17-12 in the semifinals. In the final, Spain upset favorite Samoa 22-19 to advance to the 2016 Summer Olympics.
