- 26 January - Tereza Kerndlová is selected to represent the Czech Republic at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Have Some Fun". She is selected to be the second Czech Eurovision entry during Eurosong held at the Prazské Výstavište in Prague.
- 3 July - Jiří Zonyga wins the first season of X Factor.
- 20 December - Film and theater actress Dana Batulková and her partner Jan Onder win the third season of StarDance.
