The singles draw was headlined by ATP No. 4, US Open runner-up, Cincinnati and Madrid Masters, Doha and Marseille winner, St. Petersburg defending champion Andy Murray, Miami Masters, Pörtschach, Warsaw winner Nikolay Davydenko, and Umag titlist Fernando Verdasco.
