2002 Infiniti Pro Series season

The 2002 IRL Infiniti Pro Series was the series' first season. The IPS served as a new developmental series to the Indy Racing League. All drivers utilized Dallara chassis and Infiniti engines. A. J. Foyt IV was the series champion.

Kentucky 100

The Kentucky 100 was held August 11 at Kentucky Speedway. A.J. Foyt IV won the pole. During practice, Jason Priestley crashed and suffered serious injuries, ending his racing career. He would fully recover.

Final points standings

For every race points were awarded to all starters: 50 points to the winner, 40 for runner-up, 35 for third place, 32 for fourth place, 30 for fifth place, 28 for sixth place, 26 seventh place, 24 eighth place, 22 for ninth place, 20 for tenth place, winding down to 1 points for 28th place. Additional points were awarded to the driver leading the most laps (2 point). No additional points were awarded for the qualifying.
