The Sheldon L. McCormick 2006 novel, "Tales of Tyrone" features a two part chapter, entitled, "Skirmish Line" in which the protagonist, Tyrone, gets caught up in the middle of the rioting while working as an armed private security guard. McCormick's third novel, "Down A Different Route" published in 2010, features the main hero in the novel, Charlie "Champion" Plate, an armed security guard and former welterweight boxer and his friends, caught up in the 1992 riots and helped to save some of its victims. Down A Different Route is dedicated in memory of the 53 victims who were killed during the civil unrest.
