- ^ First part of the season was played by ŽŠD Maribor, who went into the winter break as a league leaders. During the winter break, NK Maribor was formed, mainly with players from ŽŠD Maribor and NK Branik Maribor, which was dissolved few months earlier. The new club took ŽŠD Maribor's points and league position when the league resumed in spring of 1961, while a reformed NK Železničar Maribor started at the bottom of the league pyramid as a "new club".[1]
