- September 17: A Penumbral lunar eclipse took place and was mainly visible, it started before 22:00 and finished at around 2:10[2]
- October 2: A total solar eclipse took place, it showed from around 50% (at Brava ) to about 60% (at Sal) obscuration of the sun in the archipelago after 10:30 AM[3]
