The 1959–60 Iraq FA Cup Championship was the 6th season of what is now known as the League of the Institutes (the top division of Iraqi football from 1948 to 1974), and it was open to teams from Baghdad. It was played as a double-elimination tournament, with the teams that got knocked out early being relegated. Al-Athori won their only major trophy to date, beating Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya 3–0 in the final on 6 May 1960.[1][2]
