The 1949 Cal Poly Mustangs football team represented California Polytechnic State University[note 1] during the 1949 College Division football season. Cal Poly competed in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).
The team was led by second-year head coach Chuck Pavelko and played home games at Mustang Stadium in San Luis Obispo, California. They finished the season with a record of four wins and six losses (4–6, 1–3 CCAA).
