The 1927 Tempe State Bulldogs football team was an American football team that represented Tempe State Teachers College (later renamed Arizona State University) as an independent during the 1927 college football season. In their fifth season under head coach Aaron McCreary, the Bulldogs compiled a 2–3–1 record and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 63 to 50. Tempe State's team captain was Bill Griffith. The Bulldogs finished (1-0) at home and (1-3-1) on the road. All home games were played at Irish Field in Tempe, Arizona.

Season Summary

In the season opener, Tempe State Teacher's College suffered a 25-3 road loss against Loyola Marymount. It marked the first ever meeting between the teams in school history. The Bulldogs dropped a 6-0 road shutout at the Phoenix Indians. TSTC lost a 19-0 shutout on the road at NAU. The Bulldogs earned their first win of the season with a 14-0 road shutout victory against Gila JC. In their home opener at Irish Field, Tempe State Teacher's College delivered an impressive 46-0 shutout win over Phoenix College. Tommy McCarty recorded an 80 yd punt return for TSTC. The Bulldogs closed the season with a 0-0 tie against Texas-El Paso on the road.
