The 1905 Tempe Normal Owls football team was an American football team that represented Tempe Normal School (later renamed Arizona State University) as an independent during the 1905 college football season. In their seventh season under head coach Frederick M. Irish, the Owls compiled a 0–3 record and were outscored by their opponents by a combined total of 28 to 8. The Owls finished (0-3) at home and (0-0) on the road. All home games were played at Normal Field in Tempe, Arizona.
Season Summary
In the season opener at Normal Field, Tempe Normal fell to the Phoenix Indians 17-8. The Owls suffered a 5-0 home shutout loss to Phoenix Union High School in Tempe. Tempe Normal closed the season at home, as they dropped a 6-0 contest to Tempe High School. This marked the first ever meeting between the teams in school history.
Tempe Normal's roster included: (Fred Ayer, Ralph Blount, John Dykes, Tom Higley, Alma Jones, Karl C. Leebrick, McCombs, Irving Meskimons, Frank Miller, Halbert Miller, Clyde Stewart, Aaron Sund, Herbert Van Meter, C. Webb, & James Wilson).
