.tr is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Turkey, first made available for use in 1990.

It is administered by NIC.TR (under Middle East Technical University) Computer Center and Turkey Internet Society (Local Chapter of ISOC).. .nc.tr is used as a second-level domain for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is a self declared state and not recognised by the United Nations, and as such has no country code assigned.

Registrations

.tr is the first country-code top-level domains registered on 1990. At the end of 2017, some of these new websites were started registering on January 2018, and many domain websites started registering on May 2018. Some other com.tr Websites Increased to 69,000,000 making them the largest subdomain with a lot of .tr websites. Many .tr Website Domains Were Registered Since 2018.

Statistics

As of March 2017, around 15.53% of all the .tr domains were served via secured HTTPS protocol, with the Let s Encrypt Authority X3 being the most popular SSL certificate.[1] Microsoft-IIS is the most popular web server, serving 35.31% of the .tr domains, followed by Apache serving 35.14% of the total .tr domains.[1]

Other second-level domains

Initially, nic.tr, the official registry's domain, was the only second-level domain under this TLD and other second-level domains were prohibited. However, recently tsk.tr is registered as a second-level domain.
