The Șar River ( Hungarian: Sár-patak ) is a right tributary of the river Mureș in Romania. It discharges into the Mureș in Glodeni. Its name originates from the Hungarian "sár" meaning “mud”, so the Hungarian name means “Muddy Creek”.
