Körfuknattleiksdeild ÍR, commonly known as ÍR, is a basketball club based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is a subdivision of Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur. As of the 2016-2017 season its men's team plays in the Úrvalsdeild and is coached by Borce Ilievski.[1][2] In 2017 the club had plans to revive its women's team and register it for the women's Division I for the 2017-2018 season.[3] On June 16, 2017, the club hired former player Ólafur Jónas Sigurðsson as the head coach of the women's team.[4]
ÍR was one of the pioneers of basketball in Iceland[5] and one of the founding members of the men's Úrvalsdeild.[6]
