Zoran Savić (Serbian Cyrillic: Зоран Савић; born November 18, 1966) is a retired Serbian professional basketball player. The 208 cm (6'10") center played in various European counties.
Professional career
Savić made first steps for KK Čelik in the First League of Yugoslavia. In 1990 and 1991 he played with Jugoplastika in Split, winning both the Yugoslav league title and the FIBA European Champions Cup (now known as the Euroleague) in each of the two years. In 1991, he signed with FC Barcelona and spent a couple of seasons in Spain.
Savić then became a member of PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece, where he won the Korać Cup in 1994 and the Greek Cup in 1995.
He then spent a year with Real Madrid before settling in Kinder Bologna in 1997, and won the Italian championship as well as the Euroleague in 1998. He was awarded with the 1998 Euroleague Final Four MVP. In the summer of 1998 he moved to Efes Pilsen of Istanbul, and won the Supercup of Turkey.
Savić then returned to FC Barcelona in 2000, and then moved to Fortitudo Bologna in 2001. In 2002 he ended his professional career.
National team
Internationally, Zoran Savić won gold medals with Yugoslavia at the 1990 Basketball World Championship and during the 1991, 1995, and 1997 European Championships. He was part of Yugoslavia's silver medal team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Administrative career
After retiring from playing at Fortitudo in 2002, Savić became part of the club's management. He spent three years as the team's general manager.
From 2005 until 2008 he was the general manager of FC Barcelona Bàsquet.
From 2008 to 2009, he managed Fortitudo. He then became a sports agent, founding Invictus Sports Group.
