Zodiac Nautic
Zodiac Nautic is a French company best known for their widely used small inflatable boats.
In 1998, the company acquired the Llanelli-based competitor Avon Inflatables. In 2008, The Carlyle Group acquired the marine and pool division of Zodiac Aerospace. In 2012, OpenGate Capital acquired the marine division and named it Zodiac Nautic.[1] In financial trouble, the company was sold to private owners in 2015.[2]

The Zodiac inflatable boats are commonly used by the United States Military.
Zodiac boats were brought into American popular culture in the late 1960s. They were ubiquitous in the popular television documentary series, The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau.
The word "ZODIAC" is a registered trademark for rigid-hulled inflatable boats.
