Zheng Long (simplified Chinese: 郑龙; traditional Chinese: 鄭龍; pinyin: Zhèng Lóng; born 15 April 1988) is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese Super League.

Club career

Zheng Long started his football career in the 2006 league season after he graduated from Qingdao Jonoon's youth academy. He would eventually make his debut for the club the following season on 3 March 2007 in a 1-1 draw against Zhejiang Greentown.[1] Throughout the season, he would steadily establish himself within the team by playing in 20 league games; however, it was during the 2008 league season that saw Zheng establish himself as a prominent left-sided player and an expert free kick specialist within the team when he helped Qingdao with five goals in 27 appearances.[2]

On 19 July 2013, Zheng was loaned to fellow Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande until 31 December 2013.[3] He made his debut for the club on 31 July 2013 in a 3-0 win against Beijing Guoan. Zheng permanently transferred to the club in the 2014 season after Qingdao was relegated from the top tier in the previous season. He didn't play any matches during the 2014 season due to a serious leg injury.

International career

Zheng made debut for the Chinese national team on 18 July 2009 in a 3-1 win against Palestine.[4] He scored his first goal for the national team on 8 November 2009 in a 2-2 draw against Kuwait.[5]
