Zeynep Murat Duran (born Zeynep Murat on September 15, 1983) is a European champion Turkish female Taekwondo practitioner.[1][2][3] She is a member of İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi S.K..[4][5]

Zeynep Murat was born in Kayseri, Turkey.[3][6] She studied physical education and sports at Erciyes University in her hometown.[5][7]

At the age of 13, she began practising with initiative of her father Mehmet Murat, who wanted she becomes couragous.[5][8][9]She was coached in the beginning for about one year by Arzu Tan, a former world champion.[5][8]

Zeynep Murat took part at the 2000 Korean Open Tournament in Chuncheon, at ehich she won the gold medal in the juniors category and was named "Most Technical Junior Woman Athlete".[10] She took a gold medal at the 2000 World Cup in Lyon, France.[10] In 2004, Zeynep Murat became European champion in Lillehammer, Norway.[5][8][9] She won the silver medal at the 2005 World Taekwondo Championships in Madrid, Spain.[11] The same year, she another silver medal at the European Championships held in Riga, Latvia.[2]

In 2007, Zeynep Murat Duran became again Turkish champion.[1]
