Zanzan (French: District du Zanzan) is one of fourteen administrative districts of Ivory Coast. The district is located in in the northeast corner of the country. The capital of the district is the town of Bondoukou.
Creation
The district was created in an 2011 administrative reorganisation of the subdivisions of Ivory Coast.[3] The territory of the district was composed of the former Zanzan Region.[1]
Administrative divisions
The district is further subdivided into two regions:
- Bounkani Region (region seat in Bouna)
- Gontougo Region (region seat also in Bondoukou)
Population
According to the preliminary results of the 2014 census, the district has a population of 934,352.[2]
