Zalman Nechemia Goldberg

Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg (Hebrew: זלמן נחמיה גולדברג) is a rabbi, posek, and Rosh Yeshiva in Israel. The scion of a Lithuanian Jewish family, Rabbi Goldberg is also a son-in-law of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach.[1]

He is a halakhic authority and Chief Justice of the Rabbinical High Court in Jerusalem, where he has made rulings on the issues of gittin, ketubot, artificial insemination, and the commandment of living in the Land of Israel.

He is the Rosh Yeshiva of both the Hasidic yeshiva of Sadigura and the Jerusalem College of Technology, also known as Machon Lev and heads the Institute for the Higher Study of Halacha Machon Iyun Ha'Halacha in Jerusalem.

He co-authored the Rabbinical Council of America's prenuptial agreement[2] with Rabbi Mordechai Willig.

Rabbi Goldberg is also well known for his semicha (Rabbinic ordination) exams, which are often taken as an alternative to those offered by the Israeli Rabbinate.

He has lectured extensively in the Chabad Yeshivat Torat Emet of Jerusalem on matters of Jewish law. In November 2009, he wrote an endorsement for a book by Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira (The King's Torah)[3] but later rescinded it, stating that saying that the book includes statements that "have no place in human intelligence."
