Yves Daccord (born in 1964 in Zürich, Switzerland) is the Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Directorate.[1]

Daccord earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Geneva.[1][2] He was a TV journalist at the Télévision Suisse Romande in Geneva[3] and producer.

He joined the ICRC in 1992.[1][1][2] In 1997, he became deputy head of the Division for the Promotion of International Humanitarian Law.[1] In 1998 he became head of the Communication Division, in 2002 director of Communication.[1] He was named director-general effective July 1, 2010.[1][3]

He is married, and has three children.[4]
