The Yun Feng ("Cloud Peak") is a long-range surface-to-surface cruise missile currently being developed by the Republic of China, scheduled for production in 2014.

Design and development

Developed by the Chungshan Institute of Science and Technology,[1] design specifications for the Yun Feng call for a range of over 15,000 kilometres (9,300 mi) at supersonic speeds of over Mach 4+; the missile entered service and was deployed in 2014.[2] The Yung Feng is stated as being a response to the modernization of the People's Republic of China's submarine-launched ballistic missiles.[2]

It was stated that production of the missile would begin anytime.[1] however the Ministry of National Defense denied reports of the missile's development. It is a futuristic development to stay in military power balance with competing countries.
