Yukiko Sakamoto

Yukiko Sakamoto (坂本由紀子, Sakamoto Yukiko, born January 20, 1949) is a female Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Mishima, Shizuoka and graduate of the University of Tokyo, she joined the Ministry of Labor (now part of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) from 1972 until 2004 when she was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time.
