Personal
He was born in Korea, but attended school in Toronto, Canada for four years. Enjoys watching movies and eating. And posting pictures of himself eating. Involved in a shipping/pairing/relationship/scandal with bandmate Jae Park in a 'ship' named is Jaehyungparkian. Lowkey hates the name. Attends Dongguk University.
Pre-debut
Before being scouted by JYPE in 2010, YoungK was active in a three member group called '3rd Degree', along with Terry He and Don Lee. They performed at various locations in Toronto and put up videos on Youtube (including some original songs composed by him) before YoungK and Don were scouted by JYPE.
He appeared in the fourth episode of WIN: Who is Next?[1] as a part of JYP's rapping team(with GOT7's Mark Tuan and Jackson Wang) against the combined rapping teams of Team A and Team B, where he spat the famous verse, "YG, get an attitude!", and again as a part of JYP's vocalist team alongside bandmates Junhyeok, Jae, Sungjin and Wonpil.
He began promoting with his bandmates as 5Live in 2014/15,[2] until drummer Dowoon was added and the band was renamed DAY6
Debut with DAY6- present
He debuted with his bandmates late 2015 with the EP The Day,[3] which consisted of five tracks, plus the title track, Congratulations. Since then they have attended fanmeets in various countries outside of Korea including Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan; and will be holding one in the US later this year as well[4]
They had their first solo concert, D-Day[5] on November 20 and 21, 2015, at Seoul's Yes24 Movie Hall.
