In early September 2015 reports emerged that Venu Sri Ram of Oh My Friend fame may direct Ravi Teja's next film which will be produced by Dil Raju, who had also bankrolled his directorial debut Oh My Friend.[1]
"My film is not a game changer, I am not saying I am doing something out of the box but I can say I am not doing something regular.
Ravi Teja will be presented in a new light and the film will reflect the aspirations of today's youth"
The film's title was reported as Evado Okadu in mid September 2015 [4] and as Bhogi with a tag line Andanga Vundevadu in early October 2015.[5] On 17 October 2015 it was officially announced that the title of the film was Yevado Okadu [6][7] and Dil Raju will be producing the film which marks his second collaboration with Ravi Teja after Bhadra (2005).[8]
It was reported that Ravi Teja involved personally in finalizing the plot and has roped Devi Sri Prasad to direct the music who composed his films Venky (2004), Bhadra (2005) and Sarocharu (2012) earlier.[9] Richard Prasad was selected as the cinematographer. The film was officially launched on 22 October 2015 on the occasion of Dussehra in Hyderabad.[10]

Impressed with the performance in Malayalam film Premam (2015), Anupama Parameswaran was signed to play as one of the female leads opposite Ravi Teja in mid September 2015.[11] Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh and Nassar were cast for crucial supporting roles.[3] Kumar Parvateesam of Kerintha fame was signed in to play a pivotal role in the film.[12] In last November 2015 Pragya Jaiswal was finalised as the other female lead opposite Ravi Teja.[13]
