Yên Thế is a rural district of Bắc Giang Province in the Northeast region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 91,934.[1] The district covers an area of 301 km2. The district capital lies at Bố Hạ.[1] This is the homeland of Struggle of Yên Thế's farmers.

History

The area was the base of the Yên Thế Insurrection which lasted from 1887-1913.[2]

Agriculture

The famous product of this district is cam sành - a hardy variety of southern ginseng which grows on the mountain of Chung Sơn in Yên Thế district.[3]
