Yana Hirka (Quechua yana black, hirka mountain[2] "black mountain", hispanicized spelling Yanajirca) is a 4,782 metres (15,689 ft) high mountain in the Andes of Peru. It lies in the north of the Rawra mountain range and east of the Waywash range. The mountain is located in the Huánuco Region, Lauricocha Province, Jesús District. It is situated northwest of a lake named Patarqucha and southwest of Kuntur Wachanan. An intermittent stream named Luychu (Quechua for "deer",[3] hispanicized Luychos) originates on the southern slope of Yana Hirka. It flows to the Waywash River (Huayhuash) which belongs to the watershed of the Marañón River.[4]
