Xenochromis hecqui is a species of cichlid endemic to Lake Tanganyika in East Africa. This species is a scale eater, consuming the scales off of other fishes. It can reach a length of 30 centimetres (12 in) TL. It is also to be found in the aquarium trade. Currently it is the only known member of its genus.[2]
