Women on Web (WoW) is an online abortion help service for countries where there is no access to "safe abortion service". The abortion is done with Mifepristone and Misoprostol at home before the 9th week of pregnancy, the medicines are sent by mail under the supervision of a doctor.[1]
Women on Web's goal is to prevent unsafe abortion and reduce mortality rate due to unsafe abortions by supporting access to safe medical abortion through use of telemedicine.
A 2008 study published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology found a "curettage/vacuum aspiration" rate comparable to the rates found when the same drugs are administered in a traditional outpatient setting.[1]
