Windmill is a census-designated place in Hidalgo County, New Mexico, United States. Its population was 43 as of the 2010 census.[1] The community is located along New Mexico State Road 9.
The community was founded in the 1970s. While it is located on a windy plain, as of 1991 it did not have a windmill despite its name.[3]
Geography
Windmill is located at 31°58′37″N 108°37′53″W / 31.976871°N 108.631504°W. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the community has an area of 1.446 square miles (3.75 km2), all of it land.[1]
