William John"Willie" Coulson (born 14 January 1951 in Benwell, Newcastle upon tyne)[1] is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder in the Football League for Southend United, Aldershot, Huddersfield Town and Darlington.[2]

He played in Hong Kong[2] for a number of years before moving to Melbourne where he played a season with Ringwood Whilemina and then transferred to Frankston City who later folded up because of debts.Did coaching clinic in Melbourne with George Best Bobby Charlton and Dennis Law. played chartiy match and that was the last time he kicked a ball. He lived in Melbourne for 20 years before moving to Newcastle in Australia. He is still into his football and did some coaching after his retirement.

He now avidly follows his grandson Lachlan Gillard who is in the elite Emerging Jets program in Newcastle, Australia at the 10 year old level and shows a similar natural ability as his grandad. The Emerging Jets program is an academy which looks to feed players into the Newcastle Jets, who compete in the Australian professional A League.
