Release and cover versions
"Will You Wait for Me?" was recorded during the summer of 1998. It was first released on 19 February 1999 and it's Kavana's favorite song in the second album. He said in an interview; "This song is one of my favourites on the album (Instinct), actually – I've never done a ballad before! It's about a friend of mine who died of cancer, and writing it was great therapy in a way. Hopefully, this is the defining one for me." [3] It was produced in Italy (along with the entire Instinct album) by Absolute (Spice Girls, Boyzone). The single reached number one in an Asian country.
"Will You Wait for Me?" was covered by Gareth Gates in 2003 as a B-side of his single "Spirit in the Sky".[4]
