Wilfried Richter (9 May 1916 — 18 April 1981) was an Obersturmbannführer in the Waffen-SS during World War II who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.

Wilfried Richter was awarded the Knight's Cross while in command of a Sturmgeschütz (Assault Gun, StuG) Battery, 3rd SS Sturmgeschütz Battalion, 3rd SS Panzer Division Totenkopf on the 21 April 1942.[1]

He later went on to command the II.Battalion, 95th SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment, 38th SS Division Nibelungen [2]
