Wide-Eye is an animated children's television series, set in the fictional Natterjack Forest. The Television Series consists of 27 10-minute episodes, made between 2003 and 2004. The programme is about a wise old owl named Wide Eye who lives in a tree with his young son Little Hoot, and Little Hoot's best friend, Flea.
Characters
- Wide Eye - The titular character who lives inside a tree. He is the leader of Natterjack Forest. He hunts at night-time, just like a real owl. Voiced by Anton Rodgers.
- Little Hoot - A yellow-eyed owl who is Wide Eye's son. He sleeps at night. Voiced by Maria Darling
- Flea - A bouncy white-eyed insect who is Little Hoot's best friend. She also lives in a tree. Voiced by Jane Horrocks
- The Natterjack Toads - Three toads who live at Natterjack Pond. Voiced by Maria Darling, Jimmy Hibbert and Jane Horrocks.
- Mother Natterjack - A female orange toad who is mother of the Natterjack Toads. Voiced by Anton Rodgers.
- Father Natterjack - A male green toad who is father of the Natterjack Toads. He appears in a few episodes. Voiced by Anton Rodgers.
- Ninety-Nine - A lazy centipede who has trouble with his legs. Voiced by Jimmy Hibbert.
- Conchita - A grey and white Chinchilla who lives under the roots of a tree. Voiced by Maria Darling
- Rangatang - An orange ape who has a nearby shop somewhere in Natterjack Forest. Voiced by Jimmy Hibbert.
- Hetty Hornet - A small, buzzy hornet who likes things to be clean and tidy. Voiced by Jane Horrocks
- Wily Komodo - The main villian who always causes mischief in Natterjack Forest. He lives inside a rocky den. Voiced by Jimmy Hibbert
- Baby Komodo - Wily Komodo's son who also sleeps at night. He always wears pajama pants and has a rather long tongue. Voiced by Jane Horrocks.
- Batwing - Wily Komodo's arch spy who is a bat. She sleeps upside down inside a cave. Voiced by Maria Darling.
