White Rock Christian Academy
White Rock Christian Academy (W.R.C.A.) is a Christian private school in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada with a student population of 310 and a staff population of 21, as well as an ESL School with 12 students and 1 staff member as of September 2006.
History
White Rock Christian Academy opened its doors at 2265 152nd street in September 1981 using Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) as its core curriculum. In September 1990 the curriculum was changed from ACE to a B.C. approved curriculum taught from a distinct Christian perspective. The school was housed in the combined 30,000 sq ft (2,800 m2). facilities with White Rock Christian Fellowship, now known as Life Church White Rock. The main building accommodates classrooms for K, grades 7-12, ESL, a gym, chapel and cafeteria. Six portable elementary classrooms are housed on the property.
Its class size varies from 22 students to over 30. It has one or two classes per grade in Elementary School, Middle School, and Secondary School.
Curriculum
Bible is taught as one of the subjects in the school. All core subjects are taught from a biblical perspective. Students are challenged to acquire knowledge and to use this knowledge to impact their present and future community for good.
Extracurricular
WRCA has strong extracurricular music and sports programs. Students have won various awards at local and national music festivals. In both boys' basketball and girls' volleyball, the teams have attained top ranking in the Fraser Valley Division and have competed at the B.C. Provincial Championships. WRCA have won the Sr Boys Triple A Provincial Championship twice and has finished in the top four 7 times since 1999. Their other extracurricular activities include cheerleading, model United Nations, and chamber choir.
