Bellingham School District No. 501 is a public school district in Whatcom County, Washington, USA and serves the city of Bellingham.

As of October 2004, the district has an enrollment of 10,763 students.

In 2006, the Center for Digital Education named the Bellingham School District 6th in the nation for districts with 2501-15000 students.[1][2]

Science Curriculum

Bellingham School District is a partner district in the North Cascades and Olympic Science Partnership (NCOSP) and as such has made a substantial commitment to science education for its students. Each school has a science teacher leader who has been trained in Science Education Reform pedagogy. The teacher leaders work within the district to select, align, and maintain a coherent and articulated science curriculum.
