What Is This? is an album by rock band What Is This?, released in 1985. The album was produced by Todd Rundgren, who also played Fairlight Synthesizer on it. A cover version of the track Chasing Your Ghost is featured on the so-called Re)production album of Todd Rundgren released in 2011. According to the album, Hillel Slovak plays guitar except on "Chasing Your Ghost", "Whisper (To Natasha)" and "I'll Be Around", later he left What Is This? to rejoin the Red Hot Chili Peppers to record their second album Freaky Styley.
