"Welcome 2 the Party (Ode 2 the Old School)" is the first single released by Kid Rock, from his fourth studio album Devil Without a Cause, his highest-selling album. The single was released on July 30, 1998, three weeks before the album's release. "Welcome 2 the Party" failed to find success, and Devil Without a Cause did not gain significant attention until the release of its second single, "I Am the Bullgod".
On August 18, 1998, Atlantic released Kid Rock's Devil Without a Cause behind the single "Welcome 2 The Party (Ode 2 the Old School)" and Kid Rock went on the Vans Warped Tour to support the album.
The clean version of the song removes both interludes, as well as the second verse and outro, and also alters most lyrics in the final verse.
Music video
