Weekend is an early morning lifestyle and entertainment show on ITV, presented by Aled Jones, that airs every Saturday and Sunday morning from 08:30 until 09:25. The first series aired from 26 April until 7 September 2014, while the second series ran from 18 April to 6 September 2015.
Format
Weekend features a mixture of chat and musical guests.[1]
Aled Jones presents the programme on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.[2] Of this appointment, Jones said "What more can I ask for than a mix of all of the things I love! It's a dream come true to present a show I've always wanted to watch and I can't wait to get started".
The show also has a feature on people with strange talents or hobbies. The item is called 'We're Talking in the Air', a pun on "Walking in the Air", a song famously covered by Jones.
Other items see Jones and his guests take a look at the week's television highlights led by a number of "experts" including Lucie Cave and Alison Hammond and a round up of the most popular viral videos in a feature called 'Trending Trio'.
Production
Episodes of Weekend are pre-recorded at the Cactus Studios in London.[3]
