Wanted is an Australian drama television series which premiered on the Seven Network in Australia on 9 February 2016.[1][2][3]
Plot
The series follows two complete strangers, Lola and Chelsea, who intervene in a fatal carjacking while waiting at a suburban bus stop, and are subsequently thrust into a chase from authorities across Australia with a vehicle filled with cash. The strangers must rely solely on each other while they are on the run.
Production
The series was first announced in August 2015, following an undisclosed funding grant from Screen Australia[4][5] and a grant of AU$$527,768 from Screen Queensland.[6] The series was filmed in various locations across Queensland.[7]
Upon its announcement, Shirley Barrett was named as director,[5] however Peter Templeman and Jennifer Leacey were later named as directors.[8] The series is created by Rebecca Gibney and Richard Bell, the co-founders of R&R Productions which is the production company behind the series, along with Matchbox Pictures.[7] The series will be distributed internationally by Universal Media Studios International.[9]
Production began in September 2015[9] and wrapped in early December of the same year, totalling 10 weeks across 60 locations.[2]
