Plot summary
The Druid Walker Boh makes an inquiry of the shade of the slain druid Allanon at the Hadeshorn, before he sets out on his quest aboard the Airship Jerle Shannara. He pleads with Allanon to tell him what he knows about what will come of the journey. Allanon only reveals that the quest will be dangerous, and that he will gain the magic he is looking for, but only understand some, and return with none.
