Wales Comic Con

The Wales Comic Con is a fan convention that is held in the UK twice a year at Glyndŵr University in Wrexham, North Wales. It is run by events management company - Mercury Promotions (UK). Fans are also known to attend the event dressed for cosplay where they can take part in an annual competition. Comic artists from around the world can also be found drawing images for fans in the hall during the day.

Media & Guests

The event itself contains various guests from various types of medias spending time to meet the fans and the public throughout the day as well as taking part in talk sessions and photoshoots. The event also hosts a variety of stalls and traders selling various merchandise and memorabilia.

Event Exclusives

In 2012 (in association with Dave TV) the event played an exclusive clip for fans that would preview the long awaited return of Red Dwarf back to our screens. This clip was a world exclusive for fans taking part in the Red Dwarf Q&A panel.

During the April 2014 event gaming fans had the opportunity to win a Dead Island exclusive in-game code only available that day.

Aftershow Party

The event often finishes with an aftershow party in a local venue where they have had the likes of Funeral for a Friend, Blue Gillespie, Straight Jacket Legends and the Thomas Ian Nicholas Band playing live music for the public as well as standup comedy from Tom Price and Adrian Poynton. In 2013 Billy Boyd and his band Beecake performed live at Central Station in Wrexham.
